I-joists
I-joists for floors and roofs
I-joists give you a flat, quiet floor without the crowning, twisting, and shrinking you get from sawn lumber. They're light enough for one person to carry, come in long lengths for clear spans, and hold the same depth from end to end.
We supply I-joists in 11 7/8, 14, and 16 inch depths for floor systems and roof framing, matched to rim board of the same depth so the whole floor goes together cleanly.

LVL carries heavy loads over long openings where sawn lumber would need to be oversized or doubled up. We supply LVL from 9 1/2 to 24 inches deep for headers, flush beams, dropped beams, and ridge beams.
Our design team can size headers and beams as part of your truss or floor package, so the loads from your trusses and the beams that carry them are worked out together.

Engineered wood FAQ
Should I use floor trusses or I-joists?
Floor trusses span farther and leave open space for ductwork and plumbing. I-joists can be cut to length on site and work well for simpler floor plans. Many builders use both in the same house. Send us your plans and we'll recommend the best fit.
Can you size my LVL headers and beams?
Yes. Our design team can size headers and beams as part of your package, based on your plans and the loads from your trusses.
Do I-joists and rim board come in matching depths?
Yes. We supply rim board in 11 7/8, 14, and 16 inch depths to match our I-joists.
Do you deliver engineered wood products?
Yes. EWP ships on the same delivery as your truss package to job sites across West Michigan, or you can pick up at our Byron Center yard.
